Sometimes I wonder – do we use excuses to avoid giving ourselves care? Are the barriers to self-care that seem insurmountable created and put in place by ourselves? Does not caring for ourselves seem indulgent because we don’t feel worthy?
I ask because many, many people who come to me have allowed their wants, needs and desires to drop off their own radar.
They are happy to give care to the people in their lives, but giving themselves their own time and attention seems audacious and self-indulgent.
I get it. I am recovering from feeling this way myself. And let me tell you the very truth…it’s not true. Giving yourselves the SIMPLEST of care starts this beautiful avalanche of self-kindness.
The key is SIMPLICITY. Let’s invite in simplicity into our self-care. If we can reframe self-care to simple things like a breath, a lit candle, a cup of tea, a moment of quiet…maybe we can give it to ourselves more, and more, and more.

But let me tell you something in case you haven’t heard it recently. You’re worth it. You’re worth caring for. SO WORTH CARING FOR.
